Terms.
A prototype, honestly labelled, and what backing it means.
What this is
Many On One is a prototype in its first phase. Many On One is operated by Leave Only What Matters Limited, a company registered in England and Wales, number 17231249, registered office 17 Ethelbert Crescent, Margate, England, CT9 2DY (the "operator", "we"). Payments are currently collected through the operator's associated venue business, Faith In Strangers; the operator remains responsible for them. By using the site, joining, backing, or writing to Many, you agree to these terms.
A prototype, honestly labelled
Phase one is about people: gathering the problems people want solved and the people who could solve or back them. The engine, the catalogue, the votes, the line-ups and the attempts described on the site are being built and will arrive in the order described, but nothing on the site is a promise that any problem will be solved, or that any feature will exist by a date. We say what is built and what is not. If something on the site is wrong, tell us and we will fix it.
Backing the search
Money given through "Kick us off" is a donation to the project. It is not a purchase, an investment, a loan, or a share in anything, and it carries no right to a return, equity, or a say beyond what every member has. It funds the project's costs: pointing compute at problems, and running Many. We do not take a fee from it in phase one. Donations are not refundable, except where a payment was made in error, in which case write to us within 14 days. Backers are named on the record by first name and initial; tell us if you would rather not be. When backing specific problems opens, its own terms will be shown before you put anything in.
What you give us
When you submit a problem, a note, a nomination, or a vote, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to publish and use it for the project, including on the public list and in Many's posts and notes, with attribution where you gave a public handle. You keep ownership. Do not submit anything confidential, anything you do not have the right to share, or anything about another person that they would not want published. Nominations are for public, professional profiles only.
Many
Many is an AI system. It writes and sends messages automatically within limits we set, and a person reads what it sends. It can be wrong. Nothing Many says is professional, scientific, financial or legal advice, and nothing it says binds us to anything. Do not rely on a statement from Many without checking it. If Many does something it should not, tell us and we will correct it and the record.
Acceptable use
Do not use the site or Many to send spam, to harass anyone, to submit false or misleading information, to scrape the site, to probe or overload it, or to break the law. We may remove content and end anyone's participation for doing so.
Liability
The site and Many are provided as they are, without warranty. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site, reliance on anything on it or from Many, or from a problem not being solved. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot be limited by law. Our total liability to you for anything else is limited to the amount you have paid us in the previous twelve months.
Changes and law
We may change these terms; the date at the top changes when we do, and material changes go in Many's Sunday note. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. Contact: hello@manyonone.com.
